Ok, now I get it. This works for Toyota-Lexus only, right?

It basically programs your transponder for the right code. Might work for other makers.

on the first generation RX, it was done via a sequence. Didnt need any thing like this. I would think it`s the same way for these as well.

Since it is via OBD2, definitely might work for other car makers which use the OBD2 port.
