Nice we have had a few 944's and a 914 I loved them. We brought those to village import on main street. Little expensive but great guys also the place to go if you have and Italian car or old car like a spitfire or mg

 

I'm jealous, here in California that is against the law....would love to tint the two front windows...

 

In ATL, 35% is legal. Might get away with 20 if your interior is light color. Some are riding on 15’s and that’s an invitation for a ticket. I had 35’s put on the RX. However my other Lexus came with 20’s so I am very careful around squad cars.

 

Its against the law here too, but everybody is doing it. I would do a 50 to 60% tint on the two side windows if I decided to do it.

Yeah I know right? like you said, easy money and it stinks for the person that has to remove that film. Thats a pita.

 

I can't stand laws on tinted windows, especially when cops pull you over soley for the windows. Police say its a safety issue for them because they can't see inside, well you are pulling over cars for tints who were doing nothing else wrong, and therefore shouldn't concern you.

 

If you live in an area where you feel the sun mercilessly beating on you through the windshield, I highly recommend using the 3m clear heat reduction film designed for windshields. It's a bit pricy, but it makes a world of difference.

 

yes, i am bringing up the thread again. Need to know exactly... I will be tinting my windows. Do you all remember what brand tint to match the backs? I was thinking huper optik extreme. The dealer uses suntek, but not sure if its carbon. Please let me know. thanks

 

mine is cystal white w/ light grey interior. What brand of film should i use? Huper Optik? 3M? Suntek (local lexus dealer) uses. I dont want the outside to look like a reflective silver color, want it blended with the factory rears. What should i do?

 

You want 20%. here is mine, dont have stupid dealer do it. They are just going to pay someone else to do it like a mobile tint guy then mark it up. They do the same for paintless dent removal. Trust me on this. Should be $80 max for the fronts.

Btw, they will never be perfect because the rear tint is in the glass.

 

20% will be an almost perfect match to factory. I paid $60 for the front two windows. I will post pictures if you want to see it.
