You should be alright then, but personally I would drain and fill at least one more time to get most of that other fluid outta their.Remember, the converter holds more fluid than the pan.(usually anyway)

I think the mechanic would kill me if I took it back again, to make him drained it again, and re-fill it up...lol

Do you have a place where you could do it yourself? its easy enough to do,the hardest part is taking down the plastic cover.

It will not hurt to do another drain and fill. Peace of mind.

If you didnt live so far away from me,you could bring it over to my house. And check to make sure they didnt over/under fill the trans too. Some of these shops are pretty boneheaded.

Well, I found a new Toyota mechanic ts to the help of infinirx. There is a little leak in my transmission gasket and when he repair's it my transmission fluid will be drained and replaced again

He recommends using Toyota T4 but I would like to go with Synthetic instead, should I stick with Synthetic or go with the Toyota fluid? My mechanic believes that Toyota T4 is almost as good as synthetic just wondering is it?

Well, some will give you different advice re;this issue. In my 01 RX 4spd trans. I used nothing but Synthetic. Now for my 05,I tried the Synthetic, and didnt like the shift. So I went back to the Toyota fluid with a bottle of Lube Guard red. Shifts real nice now. Plus I had the shift feel tsb done, and that made a BIG difference.BTW,make sure they replace the filter,or clean it if it has the screen. They have to drop the pan for the gasket replacement,so they may as well take care of that too.

Did you just add the bottle of Lube Guard Red with the Toyota T4 fluid?

When adding the LubeGuard be sure not to overfill the trans, although I'd advice not to use any additives as it's not needed. Your trans. is performing as it should, correct? Additives can be harmful, if not used in the right application. I'd be cautious, and add the LubeGuard at your own risk.

Toyota does not recommend additives on their tranny, last time I checked.

Most ATRA Transmission rebuilders recommend Lube Guard.

I might just hold off on it because my mechanic said that I shouldn't add any extra additives.

Good call. Toyota is now so sensitive with fluids being used, as well as Honda. What they have specified (fluids) will more than satisfy the design intent for reliability.
