Everybody makes mistakes. With this particular job, my choice would be a Lexus dealer. If you independent mechanic damages the skin on the door, you will be screwed. If it happens at a dealership, they will try to make it right, if not, there are many layers of management and customer service reps at Lexus.
I guess, you and I will have to agree to disagree on this issue.

I took it to Toyota dealer a week ago and they did a superb job at replacing the passenger side RH actuator and installing it flawlessly without damaging stuck door panel - no rubber damage, paint, torn leather seat or anything in that nature. Woot woot! It was such a relief after a month long living in agony. They ended up charging me a little less than they originally quoted me, so I paid only $550 ($250/part +3hr labor). I have to give props to the service guy and the advisor who wrote me up. They win me over for their superior service and I shall be a loyal Toyota/Lexus customer for life!!!
I've also noticed an increase in riding comfort and gas mileage. weird but i take it anyway
I will definitely recommend anyone who have similar problem to bring it to the dealer. They have the equipment and knowledge to fix your car and assemble it back like the way it should be! I agree with you guys that it has given me peace of mind and I've never felt better because I made the right decision in choosing the dealer over some car bodyshop (Pay a little more to get it done right because you dont want people to chip your paint or tear up your door in some cases you'll end up paying even more).
