Default 2008 RX- Ipod cassette adapter

Hi, I recently purchased a 2008 rx with navigation, and i'm trying to figure out how to use an ipod with it. In my 2002 camry, I simply used a cassette adapter and it worked great. Now with the Lexus, I do the same thing, but after about 15 seconds of playing my ipod music on the stereo speakers, my car spits the tape out and the music stops playing.

Anyone know whats going on? Thank you!

I've had no trouble with my cassette adapter in my 08 RX. You might try using the switch sides button and see if that helps. What brand adapter do you have? Mine is a Monster.

Use Phillips. cost $9.99 at Walmart/Radio Shack. it has been working like wonder for me on my RX bc it has no running tape in the cassette. Instead, it has a 2/10 of an inch tape built on the surface of the cassette. Gl

Must be a malfunction on the cassette player. Try using a cleaner (?).

Default Ipod

I tried the cassette adaptor buut wsa never really satisfied. I went with the iSimple Gateway and have been pleased with it. They just introduced a BlueTooth adaptor that plugs into the Gateway. I will have that installed soon.

I went with the VAIS in the 2004 SC430 but decided to use iSimple for the 2008 RX 2008. I

I hope this helps. I would move from the cassette to the iSimple Gateway and be done with it. Charges the iPod/iPhone as well.

Some of the cassette adapters, especially older ones, have a problem with auto-reversing cassette decks such as the one in the RX. Cheapest test is to purchase a newer one such as the one mentioned above from Walmart.

There has been mention here online about some 3rd party products plus one from Toyota/Lexus for connecting an iPod directly to the stereo system.

Have you tried to flip the cassette over and place it in the unit. Had to do that with the one for a min plug on it
