Sold my RX 330 last week did not have it done. Pick up the new RX 450h dealer told me that Lexus has not made one like that for the USA yet. But you known how that goes if they are talking there are lying.

Well I went in for the recall, quite painless. They didnt give me specifics really as the service adviser wasn't sure himself on the specifics. However, when I went to pick the car up the invoice showed they replaced the seal in between the firewall and brake booster and put in new brake fluid. I did however get a 2011 RX450H as a loaner and man I fell in love with it, was almost too sad to return it.

Thanks.

Had my 04 RX330 done today. Took about 4 hours but that also included a routine service (oil, filter, tire rotation. etc.) The 2011 RX 450 loaner I got was nice but I like my RX330 much better. They did offer me the loaner when I made the appointment. I didn't need to ask.

They did top off the gas. I was just under a half tank when I brought it in and it was over the full mark when I picked it up. I would estimate they added 8-10 gallons to the tank.

My appt. was for Saturday the 4th @10am, but I dropped it off on Thursday afternoon that was the 2nd as I wouldnt have had time on that Friday to drop it off and I had an early morning function on Saturday. Anyways they took my car in on Thursday, I asked for a loaner, and they called me mid day Friday telling me it was done to my suprise. Was quite a bummer as I was hoping to have a little more time with the loaner.

I have a 2006 RX330 and I was not contacted by Lexus, nor does the owners website indicate that it's affected by the recall (it has a note that there are no outstanding safety recalls based on the VIN). Does the recall not include all RX330s from 2006?

Not sure about 2006's, but I called my dealer today and told them I had not gotten a notification for my 2005. The service manager called me back later and said my VIN was affected and they scheduled me in for next week without a recall notification. Local Dealer should be able to tell you.

Ah, thanks for the info. I just called to schedule service for it and they checked my VIN and said that it in fact did not apply. Apparently they were initially told that affected all RX330s in the 04-06 model years, but were later informed that it was VIN specific. I wonder if it breaks down to where they were actually manufactured/assembled? Anyway, seems that I'm in the clear.

So I guess the mushy brakes are from some other cause... guess it's time to replace them.

You are right, some people wish their R was part of the brake recall and perhaps can cure their brake woes. On the other hand, better not part of the a problem.

They've always been pretty soft, but I got in to drive it the other day after driving my Infiniti G37x around, and it startled me. I could push the pedal all the way to the floor... which isn't good. The car still stops fine, and I don't push it to the floor under normal braking, but in my my mind it should never go that far down. It's got a little over 52k miles on it, so it's probably time for a front brake job. Just wish it was a little more confidence inspiring.
