Apparently I don't know anything about sales despite my prior successes because I thought I made it clear that I wanted to discuss price and he wouldn't. This is rather a difficult situation at best.. half of those who discuss suggest I wait a couple days and let them stew on it... and the other half are acting like I should have done something several days ago and apparently I missed that post.

You could get ALOT of stuff replaced for $3K if you shop right... and thats to say if it ever went out... If you can get it for about $10k id say it would be worth it. That engine and trans could easily last 300k+ if its been taken care of and mostly highway miles on it.
excellent point - particularly if I were more car savvy and either me or BF were a bit more DIY.

No, not yet. Still a bit of wrangling as crazy as it sounds. Should be sorted out today and I will fill everyone in.

Default Mine!

After this long saga... and every tedious, whiny post by yours truly... the Bamboo Pearl 2004 RX 330 Nav, Performance Package, etc... and yes, all 222K miles, is mine.

Wrap up... $9900 and they take care of the needed maintenance (timing belt, water pump, tensioner rod, cam seals and idler arms if necessary as well as a transmission drain and fill) and a full detail/wax job prior to my taking possession. Credit Union will loan up to the Kelley Blue Book retail value for it which is $18875. I am getting it for less than it's trade in value. I'm hoping that's a good thing.

I know, many of you cringe awaiting what you consider to be the inevitable string of posts regarding all the problems I will have as she creeps closer to 300K. For both our sakes, let's hope not!

That one is FWD. If I go this route at all I really need AWD.

Congrats! Bamboo Pearl was hard to come by on the RX. And performance package, rare too. That means you have air suspension and AFS. You'll have fun playing with it. When do you get to bring your baby home?

I can't believe I read this entire thread- congrats!!

I'm not surprised at all that it's in good shape. Got my ES with over 200K miles, pretty cheap too, and it runs like new. Might I add- better than a lot of newer cars; I've driven pretty much everything (my P/T job is at a car dealer..)

I promise. Keep in mind though, that I might not even get it til the beginning of next week. They aren't getting their money til the work is done and the mechanic is backed up a few days, but I know he's hoping to get on it quickly.

I hope to have it this weekend though, that would best accomodate me getting pics to the forum.
