Default Sirius Radio??

How do I know if all the necessary components are installed? Can I just call Sirius up to activate? When I hit the SAT button nothing happens. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

2009 with Navigation

P.S. All I had to do for my BMW was call Sirius and give then the vehicle number

Default Sirius

If nothing happens when you press the SAT button. You do not have the XM or Sirius reciever installed. If you did you would be able to listen to the preview channel.

You need to buy the reciever kit. On the newer cars the XM was built in. But on mine I had to have it installed.

The Vais kit is just an integration kit. You need to buy the Reciever, Antenna and cables.

Toyotas do the same thing, most insane thing I have ever seen. Less than $100 to put it in every car and let the buyer decide to activate it. I still see Toyota doing this with 2010, not sure about 2011.

My kids Toyota Matrix came equipped with XM. She got 90 days for free.

I believe the new RXs are the same. The older ones had to be installed at the dealer.

My 2007 had the AM?SAT button and I purchased the SoundLinQ (Model SL2S) here for $199 with free shipping:

You'll also need the Sirius Connect SC-C1 which you can find on Amazon for about $50. It includes the satellite antenna and cables.
