Some 2007 RX350 Made in Japan??
Hi all. I'm currently in the market for a used 2007 RX350 or RX400h. I notice that on some 2007 RX350, build near end of year are made in Japan, while the rest of the RX350 in Canada. Anyone know why?? and are there any differents between the two?
Also do Rx350 interior come WITHOUT wood trim? i see wood trim on all of them.

My 2008 RX was built in japan
I think it's just a draw.
I personally perfer cars built in japan!
Others might have their own view which is fine, I guess go with your gut feeling.
Cheers

If you believe that a car made in Japan is better than the same car assembled or made here, then it may be perceived a Japanese decent worker born here and assembling the car here is doing a low quality of work than a Japanese worker in Japan.

All RX will have wood trim, just comes standard.
The Canadian and Japanese RX, that has been discussed numerous times. It is just one more variable that you need to think about when picking up a used car. If you find your color and options on a Japanese made car, go for it. But it no way use it to select your ride. It is like COLOR. If you find your color and matching options, go for it.

I'd buy a Japanese version over a canadian one, but that's just me. I guess its a stigma - look at japanese goods from decades ago -> they still work.
Mind you the canadian plants are all run by Japanese managers and people that actually control the product, so the same 'quality control' can be seen. Less the fact that its 'bob' building your RX instead of 'takahashi'.
Not sure how true this is, but a family friend who's a trucker and delivered parts to the Toyota plant claims this to be the case.
Also the wood trim is standard. However, its easy to get crafty with silver/black vinyl and wrap the pieces

I also like cars Made in Japan. In my family, we used to have 2 same year 2000 Honda accord. ones a EX model, and the other SE model. The EX is made in USA, and drives totally different than the SE which is made in Japan.
The EX have heavy steering, gas pedal, and engines died @ 96K, while our SE sedan now has 148K, and still drives like a dream.
That's why i'm leaning more for cars that are Made in Japan.

JM2C, if I had a choice I would pick the Japan made car, everything even. Lexus looks at their car regardless of plant origin. However the Plant in Japan who makes the RX has been ranked the one of the best if not the best among Toyota plants worldwide. It says something.

Info on wood trim interior for the RX-350. The 2007 sales brochure shows an aluminum finish with light gray or black leather but then states that it is not available on the RX-350. Maybe it is available on the RX-400.

If a Lexus is made or assembled in USA or Canada it is good because Japanese workers have abandoned assembly plants or stoped working because of recent eartquake, snd tsunami, and nucleur radiation.
