Removal Tailgate Close Switch - 09 RX
Yesterday the rubber cover came off the subject switch. It appears that the cover fits over tabs on the rear /or inside of this switch itself. Thus it would seem that I need to remove the switch, reinstall the rubber cover and then reinsert the switch.
Has anyone safely removed the switch without breaking off locking tabs. Where are these tabs and how many are there? Did you use anything specific thing as a tool to get at the tabs.
Alternately, do you need to remove the liner on the inside to push the switch out from the inside.
This seems like it should be an easy job and save a tech from costing me $100/hr to do this when I have the time but no technique and or info on how to do this. I can see myself breaking the plastic switch enclosure when attempting to do this from the outside.
Does the internal liner come off easily without breaking locking pins?
Thanks
