Hi Sticky and all,
Have a continuing problem of 3 dasboard lights coming on and staying on all at the same time (check engine, VSC and Traction icons). It started after a Lexus dealership oil change in ABQ a couple of months ago. I have just spent $700 on two repair shop visits with multiple code checks and replacement of oxygen senors Bank #1/ senser #2 and a second visit for Bank #1,sensor#1.
Each time (@$350) was assured that the dashboard 3 icon problem was solved. I got less than 5 miles out of the shop each time before the 3 reappeared at once. Can't go back to this shop and need a new plan for my car (and my wife!)
Live in the Rocky Mts. pretty far from a Lexus dealership so went with a local shop in Durango,Co.
Love my 08 359 RX which I bought used and now has 70K on it. Everything seems to be working and the car is running well without any noticable problems.
Anybody got a suggestion for me? Great thanks Pete60

That is terrible. I never had three lights on at the same time. If it is me, I would go to a local auto parts shop and borrow a code reader and try to understand what codes are reported. And go from there.

3 dashboard light icons aall on after $700
Yes, I agree about a new look at the codes after the 2 expensive shop visits. That shop told me to come back yet again and they would run the codes again but I felt I wasn't getten much for my $$$.
Can a novice understand a coder reader if I bought one? Would I be better trying a different shop with a professional instead of myself?
Thanks, Pete

Pete, most auto parts stores (locally here that would be Advance Auto, Autozone, O'Reilly, etc) have a code reader that they'll come out and hook up to your car for you for free. No need to buy and figure out.

Code Reader
Thanks Dave,
We have an AutoZone in Durango, Co. so I might drop in and see if they will have a look. I watched the shop contact the device under the RX dashboard so at least I know where the hookup is.
Any ideas on why the 3 (engine, VSC, traction) icons all come on together and won't go off after a shop spent time reading the codes and replaceing what they said was the problem(s) twice?

Pete, your local shop is probably not going to know about the brake switch issue. Do you have a Toyota dealership which is closer?

Pete60 3 dashboard icons won't go off
Yes, we do have a Toyota dealership in Durango, Co. This just might be the solution to replace the brake light switch.
Thanks All, Pete60

Pete60 3 dashboard icons won't go off
AdamJeeps and all,
Yes, I wish I had looked closer at the Forums before spending $700 for 2 sensors that didn't seem to have any affect on the 3 icons (Check E, VSC & Traction) continuing to stay on.
I think my next move is to AutoZone for a code check and then to the Toyota dealership in Durango, Co. (no Lexus dealers in at least 200 miles out here) for a "Brake Light Switch" replacement. Seems that may be my least costly next move and suggested by many of you as a possible solution.
What a great feeling it is to get so many helpful ideas from all of you. Very proud to be a new member of this Lexus Family Many thanks.
PS to AdamJeeps- my 95 Jeep Laredo with 250,000 miles (and running great) is about to resurface from under the Rocky Mt. winter snow @ 9,300' so I will have a backup till I get my 08 RX 350 cleared up......... Pete
