Default Whistling window

i have an annoying window air leak in with the rear right passenger door (non-moving) triangle window. it's in the upper corner where the glass meets the molding.

it doesn't leak in water, it just whistles when we drive faster than 40 mph. when we push on the molding corner, the whistle is muffled or stops somewhat.

my guess is the vehicle was in an accident before we bought it and may have occurred to that door.

any advice or ideas on how to get this fixed?

thanks in advance-

Your window molding is coming loose, a common problem unfortunately on the 2nd gen. I'd do a search here to find the fix fast before the molding flies off. It's very simple to do. It'll probably solve the whistling problem. Good luck.

i did a search, the only results that came up were the rear triangle window on the body, which in my case, is fine. i'm having a problem with the non-moving triangle window in the door.

I finally got this fixed today. The problem was not the loose rear triangle window problem that some forum members were experiencing. It was the top corner of the non-moving window in the rear passenger door. Since I'm good at breaking things, I took it to a local auto glass repair to have them take a look at it.

When I got there, the glass dude said it looked fine. The weatherstripping was not worn out, cracked or loose. So i took him on a drive down the street so he could hear the problem (which he did).

So when we got back to his shop, he pulled back the weather stripping at the leaky corner, and applied a thick bead of 3M Super Weatherstrip / Gasket Adhesive. I had to help him hold the window back into position as he tightened the screw that secures the window. He wiped off the excess adhesive and the glass. I gave him $20 bucks for his trouble and was on my way.

Took it on the freeway with my kid sitting next to the repaired window corner… at high speed, she couldn't hear a thing. Problem solved….for now anyways.
