Just received mine back from Sewell. It was about $33 for cutting to VIN with the shipping and ClubLexus discount. Works! And i used one of those flip keys. I keep seeing online to go to your local locksmith, well I called like 20 places, and I'm in Los Angeles, CA and could not find ANY locksmith to cut it for under $75! even the dealers in this area wanted that, plus another $50 to program it. Crazy!

Thanks for the replies. I'll check to see if the ebay guy will ship to a UPS store in NY state.
Like a couple of you said, some cheap plastic and cheap metal shouldn't cost a lot. I think local lexus dealer said the key cutting machine was something like $50K. That's a lot of keys to cut to break even.
My biggest surprise is still that we (yes, you included) buy a $40K luxury car and we get an expensive (but "cheap") key that breaks easily. I wouldn't mind paying $150 for a key made of, say, some fancy carbon fiber and titanium with MDW's name engraved on it.
