RX 330 Recall - Headlight Moisture Issue
I have an 2004 RX 330 and the driver side headlight has had condensation problems. My HID bulb has gone bad and now I am told by Lexus that I need to replace the entire headlight assembly for $1472 (parts + labor).
I see that this problem is VERY COMMON...so does anyone know if Lexus is taking any responsibility for this problem?? I think they should. My car is no longer under warranty but this is ludicrous that we all experience this problem through no fault of our own.
So does anyone have any light to shed on this issue???

You can save $$ by getting some spare OEM parts or new HID bulbs on website like ebay. Then read this thread https://www.clublexus.com/forums/rx-...e-fix-diy.html . If Do-It-Yourself is not your forte, then print this out and show it to an indie imported car shop. Bring your bulbs in along with this instructions; they will gladly do the work for you for a difference of labor cost. $60-75 per hour?
P.S Search under this forum for more easy fix headlamp condensations.

Good luck with getting Lexus to cover it after warranty expires. Been there done that, I lost. Was just 2 months after warranty expired, with plenty on mile limit. Went to Lexus Corporate...nada.

That's brutal. We had to wait for some parts on our mirror assembly and our SA mentioned that we gotta make sure we don't pass 80,000kms before the part arrives or else they wont cover, I told him that the problem has been diagnosed now and were just waiting for parts and he said it doesn't matter.

Noticed the driver side of my 2004 was watered up yesterday. Had to be from rain and not a car wash. Debating on whether to just clean them up with the DIY fix or to replace.

Try the fix and if it does not work, replace.

Here is what my driver's side headlight looks like at the moment. Am going to wait until the dryer and cooler weather kicks in before I attempt to address this as it looks like it might take awhile to clean up before I try to fix.

I've been in saunas with less condensation build up than that. My mother in law just picked up a brand new MKX and the driver side rear tail light looks like a fish tank, the thing has a good 1/4 of it filled with water.

1. No need to wait to dry it up.
2. Seal the top portion ASAP, see my post.
3. The moisture will clear up eventually, a good baking in the sun will do it.
Then observe if it comes back. If it does, there more sealing work to do.
The sealing of the top might do it!
Good luck.
