Debadging my 2009 RX 350
I just bought a white pearl,2009 RX350. I had asked about debadging( removal of words, Lexus and RX 350, leave the L ) a few days before I was to pick it up from the Lexus dealer. I could tell they did not want to do it. They were telling me about paint color change, ghosting ect. and why would you want to do this. ( I bought it for the ride, could care less about the name, sorry)
After reading on a few detailing sites and your pictures, I talked my husband into helping me do it. I will admit I was a bit worried about paint change . Armed with Blow dryer, fishing line and adhesive removal safe for paint, we had them off in a few minutes. Then removed the adhesive. Rolled right up. He then used some kind of polish and Voola! You can NOT even tell they were ever there. It looks great! I just love it!!
Can't wait to take it in for my first oil change back at the dealer.
Loving the ride now.

I like the debadging idea, did it to my Chevy Z71 last spring. I asked my wife what she thought ( it's her car and we've only had the RX for two days ), she said fine, but I need to figure out the Nav system first. The 300+ page instruction book is whooping my a$$. Maybe I'll get it done by Christmas.

2004 to 2009 no holes.
2010 was a re-design, but I highly doubt that they went back to holes.
The technology on double side tape has grown so much that there are no holes needed to make sure the emblems stay where they were put in. Holes are basically additional features that require several steps and deleting them means cost savings. Let alone the potential for rusting.
