Problem is you will have to drop the headliner to get to the motor and cables. Maybe there is a way to crank it from there.

Does anyone know if the closing motion is screw driven or cable driven? My guess is that it is screw driven and there is an issue with the drive screw.

Can you aid the closing or opening with you hand and see if that helps at all?

Also you may try pulling out the shade as far as it will go as that could be causing an obstruction (though unlikely).

I would also inspect the entire track very carefully. You might wind up having to remove the headliner surrounding the sun roof to fully inspect the track and operation.
