There is a motor sound and when you press the button, it goes an inch forward and an inch back. But no more than that.

Thanks for replying

If I recall correctly, the moonroof has the "pinch" control option as do the windows in which anything preventing the, from closing causes them to try and open. You could have something obstructing the path or a sensor gone bad.

I would try removing the negative battery cable for a while to see if that will reset the system. Keep in mind to gain the auto down and up contrils agian you have to manually open and close each window all the way using each button afterwards.

Also try using the tilt up or down as this will usually cause the window to close when programming the auto option.

You may also try maunally helping the roof window close while pressing the button to close / open.

Just a few ideas to try.

How long should the negative cable be removed?

Try opening and give the moonroof a push to get going.

Removing the negative battery connection did not work.

However, now I can move the moonroof back and forth but only 2 inches in each direction and then it stops.

Can a bodyshop fix this because I don't want to take it to the dealership.

Thanks for your help.

Isn't there a manual way to close it? My RX300 had a port in the back that you could crank it closed with a handle, I'm not sure about the 330, check the manual.

I do have an RX300. 330 was a typo.

Do you know where the crank is located? It's not in the manual.

I've looked at both the RX300 and the RX330 manuals on line and I didn't see anything about a manual way to operate the sunroof.
