Default Bumper oh Bumper

I was thinking about it the other day and it would appear that it would be cheaper for me to get a RX400 Hybrid bumper than trying to buy a custom bumper/lip for my RX330. So that got me thinking, would the actual 400h bumper fit the RX330 as is? Has anyone tried this before? Has anyone got experience with any problems that someone may have had when trying to fit a RX400h bumper on a 330?

Obviously the fog lights are one of the changes that would need to be catered for, however from the looks of the pictures the grill doesn't come into play at all, and the only thing that I can see as potentially an issue may be the headlights, but again they all look identical so I wouldn't think this would be an issue. It all seems to follow the same body line with the only real difference being the actual bumper itself.

This also got me thinking about air flow. The 400h bumper looks to have more air flow than the 330. In particular in the bottom part of the bumper. My query is with the change in where the gaps up at the top of the bumper, would this cause an issue with the 330 and it being fed the right amount of air to keep running? (The bit I am referring to is the blue arrows in the picture)

Let me know your thoughts about whether this can be done or not. Thanks.

They should be identical and should be pulg and play. Except for the fogs where you will have to do some re-routing and/or extension.

How much can you get one for, painted?

As to the airflow, I think it is a non-issue.

Good luck.

I personally think the RH400 bumper is better looking. I used to have the RH400 Grille and I did think about getting the bumper replaced (after somebody hit my front bumper).

The gap below the hood, is the place where you have manual (secondary) release of the hood [for 300]. With the 400h bumper, how would you access that?

When you use the hood release from inside the vehicle, the hood pops up a bit (inch? two inches?) to allow you to access the secondary release. I can get at the secondary release on my 400h after using the main release - it should be the same for the 330, no?

The extra grill in the front of the bumper (and likely the larger lower opening) are for extra air flow for the inverter radiator in the 400h. This is the very first radiator in the 400h, followed by the A/C condenser and then the engine coolant radiator.

When it comes to engine breathing, there is a 'snorkel' at the very front of the vehicle on top of the radiator. This is where air is sucked/forced in for engine combustion. I think most of that air would be coming from the upper grill so I don't think you need to worry about enough air to keep the engine running.

The fog lights are going to be a problem (read expensive as you'll need to buy the 400h lamps) as they are completely different than the 330 fog lights.
