Default The A/C condenser

Anyone of you guy`s ever spray off the condenser? (the thing in front of the radiator) I sometimes spray simple green,or some kind of all purpose cleaner on mine once in a while. Then spray off with the hose (not high pressure though) I just wish I could back spray it from under the hood, but the fans are in the way. Plus its a tight fit their too. jc

Oddly enough, I just got chastised by my HVAC guy for not rinsing off the condenser at my house. It had blown a capacitor (August in Texas) and he was fussing at me for letting leaves pile up and letting stuff clog the vanes.

And now here you are yelling at me for not cleaning the condenser on the car! I can't catch a break!

Seriously though, it's a good idea.

Good idea!! I'm going to go give it a cleaning now, be back in 15... LOL
It probably increases it's efficiency too, because I'm sure there's just so much built up crap in between the fins.

Home AC condenser cleaner is available at ac shops. Not sure how safe it is for paint used on vehicles.

Well...

With a hose you are probably safe. Would stay away from a pressure washer to do this task.

I agree. Probably to harsh for the fins.

I recommend it annually. It'll help condenser airflow, which will result in better A/C performance. I use a condenser cleaner called Foaminator. Good stuff.

Default A/C Condensor

Speaking of the A/C. If you are cleaning your condensor. And havent done the air dam modification. Now would be a good time.

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/rx-...ification.html

This protects your condensor from rocks hitting it. Cheap fix to protect an expensive part.

Exactly. Even more important on the hybrid, as the first in line is the inverter radiator, then the A/C condensor, then the engine coolant radiator. Such a simple solution...too bad Lexus didn't think of it.

I used to have a 2006 Honda Odyssey and there was a lot of griping about this exact problem with the 2005/2006 model. There was a similar fix posted at odyclub.com Funny though, in the 2007 minor upgrade (cosmetic mostly) Honda added a mesh to the lower opening - almost as if they were listening to the customer...
