First start of day takes a long time
08 RX350 57K miles never any problems. The RX cranks just fine but it takes 10 to 20 seconds to fire, like it has no fuel. After that it starts just fine until it sits for along time. Could this be the fuel pressure regulator not holding pressure? Or something else. Other than that it runs great, no missing, lots of power, never stumbles on hard acceleration and very smooth idle.
Thanks for any help

My wife's Ford Focus had a similar issue where it would crank and not start for a while. After that initial start in the morning's it would be fine for the rest of the day. This was due to the car battery being on it's last legs and the battery needed to be replaced. I think that's the problem with yours. If it was the fuel pressure regulator not holding pressue you would most likely have troubles throughout the day. I would say get the battery tested and check it's "cold start" rating.

Had the same thing happen to my wife's 07 RX350; I was worried it was the fuel injectors, the fuel pressure regulator, or the ignition module; expensive parts to replace.
Turned out to be the battery; I bought one from Sam's club and installed it myself. Total out of pocket expense $79.

OK thanks guys I will change out this weekend. Any of you guys use a portable jump starter with a reverse power accessory plug to keep all of your presets and window settings? I have used this before on a Honda and it worked like a champ just have to turn on the key plug it into the 12V power outlet and disconnect and change the battery, no lost memory functions or resetting any thing.

I put in a new battery today, $80 Sams club and 15 min in the parking lot. Used my portable jump starter with the power outlet adapter to keep all of the presets and so I wouldn't have to reset all the windows. All went fine and will see if it starts normal tomorrow morning.
