Cool

Just a thought. Do you guys think if Lexus will use the same V6 4.0L engine from the new 4Runner on the next generation RX? Only time will tell what Lexus is up to.

Don't modify the tail. You made it look like a Toyota Previa van.
Lexus RX300 has a soft look already, don't make it look any softer. The original tail design is fine and it matches the spy photo of the white Lexus, 2nd image of my original post.

Look at the other thread, some guy did similar Photoshop modification and he made the Lexus RX300 look like an Aztek.

Draw you own dream car. Don't mess with Lexus design.

By the way, what whitels description were you referring to?

I hope Lexus will offer this option for a bigger V6 4.0L like the 4Runner. Perhaps for a variant of the RX, i.e. an extended RX with 3rd row of seats like the Envoy vs Envoy XL.

However I think they will not do that because they want to keep the gap between the RX and the GX big enough so they don't lose sales on the GX.

There's another angle of that spy shot in a recent issue of Autoweek. I'm not sure which one, but since it's the same car at a different angle, you still dont' see anything new, since all of the good parts are masked. I doodled a bunch of pictures of what I imagine the next RX to look. Incidentally, the headlight design that I imagined turned up on the next 4Runner.

Sorry Chinhman, but I didn`t modify the tail. I just modified the windows and rear lights according to whitels description. Of course it looks different. And as you said the RX looks soft already and this sketch looks even softer but not because of the tail but of the front. I also know that the new RX will definitely not look like any of the photoshopped pictures that you find in the internet. It will look like a Lexus - elegant, sportive and expensive.
To your question to which whitels description I refer; it`s "I Saw the RX330 with my own two eyes". Try to find it. I don`t know if it is still online and then tell me what you think.

Here's another stab at tweaking the Harrier closer to whitels' sketch.
I hope it does look more like this.

Congratulations xsfo, this modification looks a lot better than mine. If the front is the real one this could be the final design. Let`s wait and see what will happen in january - perhaps even a little bit earlier.

Isn't tomorrow (18th) the day that Lexus employees will be briefed about the RX 330? Fingers crossed....

Sorry,

We've seen that one before, too.

Here's a search on the term "330" in the RX 300 forum.

Default Highly Doubt 4.0

I highly doubt the use of the 4.0 V6 from the 4Runner in the next RX. The 4.0 was built as a truck engine (lots of torque), to be mounted in vehicles with RWD/4WD. I don't think it would be applicable in a FWD/AWD platform. This doesn't keep in line with the RX foundation, which is the Camry platform. And the Camry will not be seeing the 4.0. So the 3.3 is the new branch off of which Camry/Sienna/Avalon/ES/RX/Highlander will be powered. The 4.0 will see duty in trucks, like the Tacoma, Tundra, 4Runner, replacing their previous 3.4L V6.

How about this Lexus RX image?

Is this just the 2003 model?

I got this image from this URL: http://www.itogi.ru/paper2002.nsf/Ar...7_13_5731.html

That's just the current model.
Someone might be able to
which one it is exactly.
