Default Aftermarket Warranty question.

My better half just got a 2004 rx330 with 67k miles, would you guys suggest we get an aftermarket warranty? If so, is there a forum sponsor that happens to offer them?

A friend of mine said we should just ride it out since a lot of warranty companies don't got past 100k. Any thoughts people?

I agree with your friend. It would be expensive and the money could be used instead to do a complete service of the vehicle. By complete I mean oil & filter, transmission fluid change, brake fluid change, coolant service, engine air filter change, cabin filter change, brake pads & rotor inspection, etc.

I haven't read a lot of good things regarding after market wrranties either. Just make sure she's up to date on servicing and i think you should be fine. I researched the hell out of suvs before we decided on the RX and from my research it sounds like its a really reliable car.

Aftermarket warranties ar $1500 to $2000. And good luck on getting your claim paid, it is hit or miss.

It has been suggested that you keep the money instead and use it when repair bills come. If they do not come, you have an instant rebate.

The key is to keep it so you do not end up spending it for something other than a repair bill for the RX.

If your RX was still valid to get a Lexus extended warranty, will highly suggest it.

The Lexus Entended Warranty, does not apply since the vehicle in question is a 2004 model.

It's too much fine print at the aftermarket warranty agreement. It usually won't cover much unless you pay a lot.
I preferred to keep my money and do repair (or service) when it comes. So far so good. Why would I pay to someone $2000 if I'm not even sure I can get this money back in case of breakage?

Agree with everyone, use the money when you need repair rather than paying a chunk and hoping you will get reimburse. Do keep up the maintenance, research on your RX's service history online and see what was previously done.
