Advice About Tires
I have a 2007 RX350 with 30,000 miles and I'm thinking about new tires. I currently have Michelin tires on it. It seems I should expect to get more than 30,000 miles on a set of tires but I'm concerned about pushing for more miles on tires with winter coming on in the Midwest which means snow. My current tires create more road noise than I would like.
Any advice on a middle of the road price wise tire will be appreciated. My Lexus is all wheel drive.
Thanks!

i would go with Goodyear Comfortred Tourings. I recently put Bridgestone Alenzas on my 06 Rx400h and road noise is pretty bad for new tire. I've done research and read reviews and went with Alenzas but they are noisier than my previous GY Comfortreds. It was pretty quiet and didn't have any problem in Chicago weather for me in the past. Also GY Comfortreds ranked #1 in catagory from tirerack's survey. Good Luck!

Actually, I have found better all-in prices at www.discounttiredirect.com. Check them out.[They usually offer the same rebates as the other tire companies do, and their prices include shipping]. Good luck!
I try to give a nod to those sponsors whenever possible. Helps make this forum possible.

Do I really have my stereo up that loud such that I cannot hear the noise from my Alenza's? Have had mine for 40K miles now and do not think the noise all that bad. Either the stereo is up too loud or my hearing is worse than I thought from all those Who and Van Halen concerts.

As we all know Lexus dealership charger more than other places, but my SA gave me pretty good deal which was about $80 cheaper than tirerack's price. Hmmm as far as road noise, it is more noticeable since mine is hybrid, on local with engine shut off I hear this noise sounds like unbalanced tire I took it to Bridgestone dealer and said that was normal for this tire. If you read customer's revietw on tirerack, overall it has good reviews, but there are complaints on road noise. After all we are all driving lexus not a honda pilot or toyota highlander. Alenzas definately handles better on dry/wet road without a doubt but if you want quiet smoother ride, I would stick with Michelin's or GY Comfortred Tourings.

Tire Advice
Thanks to all for your advice. I've decided to go with the Goodyear Comfortred Tourings.
The information in these forums is always helpful.

+1 GY Comfortreads. I had considered Kumho SL21's (?) as in my other posts but there is just not much info on those tires. Decided to shell out $200 and get the best tire for a reasonable amt of money. Paying 200+ for a tire is unjustified unless we're talking some exotic car or a tractor trailer with those huge wheels.
