Put your key into the driver's side door, turn the key back and forth 3 or 4 times to lock and unlock, put key in ignition and it should work (it did for me).

Default Got it! 2007 rx400h

I was stuck at work in the dark and had to leave my car there. Next morning still nothing worked.
I did not have the steering wheel locked,
I did not use the wrong key,
It was fully in park,
I had the master key on me and it did not work either. I had to have it towed back to my house.

And now 3 days later I sprayed some wd40 into the lock and did the "press unlock on the key 3 times -wait 5 seconds -press unlock on the key 3 times -wait 5 seconds -press unlock on the key 3 times insert key" and it worked.
Thank you

On My 2005 RX330. I inserted the wrong key into the ignition. and the security system immediately locked the ignition. I panicked and started reading utube solutions, like hitting it with a hammer.
I also had a locksmith tell me that I had bent the internal pins and needed to replace the lock.
I had the car towed home and started a more civilized search.
The Mini screwdriver was the trick that worked for me too! after making sure the security system was reset. my process was as follows:
1. turn the master key in the drivers door to lock and unlock 3-4 times.
2. sit in the drivers seat with the door closed. press the key fob unlock button 3 times, wait 5 seconds, press unlock button 3 times, wait 5 seconds, press unlock button 3 times,
3. put the key in the ignition, verify the steering wheel automatically moves out, check that the security light on the dash turns off. try turning the key, jiggle the steering wheel if necessary.
4. if the above did not turn off the security light on the dash, disconnect the battery for about an hour. then try 1-3
5 insert a mini screwdriver into the lock gently move it around, to tap the security locking pin back into its original position.
6. put the key in the ignition, verify the steering wheel automatically moves out, check that the security light on the dash turns off. try turning the key, jiggle the steering wheel if necessary.
Good luck
