I know there have been a lot of posts about transferring contacts from IPhone 4, and it can't be done on my 2007 RX with Nav.
It can pair but cannot tx contacts. My question is this because of outdated dvd ??????
If this is not the case is there any way to do this with the IPhone 4. I can pair it but have to input contacts manually and when rx a call is rec'd just the number appears and not the name..
My 2011 ES works perfectly and previous cell phones worked ok. My 2011 ES works perfectly. Is there an app from Apple and or is there some other way to make this work.
I know its not a real big issue but it bugs me. I would think that given so many IPhones are out there and also so many Lexus pre 2010's out there that there must be a solution.Lexus says theres no way to fix this...........................

It is a hardware issue that cannot be corrected without replacing the headend with a modified unit that would work. No DVD would correct the hardware issue and Toyota/Lexus is not about to release a hardware fix for this one device. They test what they can while the vehicle is being designed, however, as there is no standard for this it is always a moving target. As you have seen, there is not even a standard for a single company and Apple is one of the worst for constantly changing standards. Wait until the iPhone 5 comes out and is not compatible with your 2011 ES.
