If you're not that happy with it, don't use it. The amount of money you're going to spend at the dealership to recalibrate it you can get a Garmin and stick it on top. Weird but if you're comfortable with the Garmin then that's a better way to go IMHO.
I've gotten the updated disk, since the one that came with the vehicle was from 2007 and to me it was a bit of a waste. Streets are still being changed in my area and the POI really suck. I mean really suck. My experience is that it's either not listed or it directs you to another state, then you have to change the city, and it's still off.
I had an issue last week, where there was a name change of the area. For example I was given the address Flushing, NY and the gps would not find it, I had to put the same address in my phone using Bing and it came up with Whitestone, NY, then tried it on the truck's gps and it accepted that, but before I left home I used google maps and I was able to locate the same address under Flushing, NY.

Do you have the map zoomed out ? Something easy to check which may cause
the map to appear to be off.
Yes, the lexus does end navigation a little distance away from the destination.
Happens both in my 2007 ES350 and 2009 RX350.
