Help,
I just purchased my first lexus: 2007 Rx 350 with navigation and rear DVD player; with 83k miles, so no warranty. Unfortunately I am not able to load a cd or cassette tape after reading instructions in the manual.
There is no error msg displayed.
Has anyone had this problem?

So your saying you cant push a cassette tape into the stereo?

And when you press the load button for the C/D. The green light doesnt flash?

That's exactly correct. Nothing happens at all.

Does anything show on the display when you turn it on and off? Does FM radio work?

Everything else works fine; FM, AM, rear DVD, and GPS. When I turn the car on, everything displays as usual, when I push the "cd" button, the display tells me that there is no cd. Basically the cd door won't open, and when I insert a cassette tape, it doesn't even stay in the component, it just comes right back out, it doesn't catch to remain in. The manual explains to "load" cd's the key has to be in the ignition in the "on" or "acc" mode. I tried that as well, nothing happens. Oh yeah, it's a Mark Levinson Brand if that helps, which I know absolutely nothing about.

Might think about running it past the dealership to at least have the service advisor confirm that the unit is possibly bad and to give you a quote. May just be something silly.

Have you tried other cassettes and not just one? Will assume all you have tried are having problems. They should just drop in and stay in assuming the radio is on at the time. If the FM radio is playing at the time and you drop in a cassette that is all you should need to do. It should also switch the input to cassette and start playing. It has auto reverse, so the only way to get the cassette out is to press the eject button.

On the C/D button. There are two. The play C/D on the bottom row. If you press it. And no C/Ds are loaded. You will get the " No C/Ds " message.

There is also a load button. You press it. And the small light will flash red for a few seconds. Then flash greeen. Thats when you can load the C/D.

The play is the lower one. The load is the upper.

I figured out the difference between the two cd / load buttons, and you are correct, in that when I press the cd button, "no cd" appears on the screen. When I press the "load" button, nothing happens, no msg, no light, nothing.

Well, since your stereo is getting power. But just the C/D and cassette dont work. It looks like you need to go get it fixed.

I've got a similar problem with the 2006 Rx 400h I bought two weeks ago. When I touch the cd button (to switch from radio for example) the display says no cd. When I touch load, I get the orange light and wait message for 3-4 secs. The green light and load message come on and it shows 1 disc in. But I can't put in any discs in - it stops halfway. So I can't play or eject that disc and can't add my own. The tape player accepts the cassette adapter for my iPod, and it plays for 2-3 minutes, then the adapter ejects and switches to radio.
