Default Sunroof wind noise

Our 06 RX400h is has a lot of wind noise coming from the sunroof at highway speed. It appears that the front edge of the seal is not making complete contact across the entire forward part of the edge. I tried to look up the seal part but I could not find just the rubber part. Anyone have any ideas here?

thanks

Well I had the dealer check out the sunroof while the RX was in for a few recalls. They say seal is loose but it is not available as an individual replacement part. Only as part of the $1300 sunroof! The Lexus Care warranty does not cover seals so we are going to live with this for now.

If it is loose perhaps a little Permatex might help hold it in place.

I think you could probably add a bit of RTV silicone to the base of the rubber seal and thoroughly clean and condition the rubber seal and edges of the sunroof.

Yep, that is the stuff. Permatex 81158, I believe, is the black silicone sealant.

The seal is stuck fine to the glass sunroof. The problem is it has shrunk a bit and there are gaps between the rubber and the body of the roof. Especially at the corners. A piece of paper can easily slip in with no resistance.

If you can get some of the RTV under the seal might it raise it enough to make a seal again?
