I just received an 08 RX400h that I thought had Sat radio. I was apparently wrong. The radio is Sat capable (AM/SAT button). I have read the other threads and done some research online but there is one thing I don't get. Why are people using a magnetic Sat antenna? What does the factory use as its Sat antenna. I would rather use that then have an extra attenna wire to route and a magnetic puck to stick on the dash or roof. My RX has the little black folding antenna on the back roof. I have attempted researching online for the RX Sat antenna with no luck. Any words from the community.

My 2008 RX400h has satellite radio and it uses a small separate antenna on the roof. I think only the newer RX models have the "shark fin" antenna that is satellite capable.

I had a 2008 IS-F with the shark fin, and even with that you still had to run wire to the antenna. It seems like it would have been better to pre-wire for it. I guess it saves money by not installing the cable at the factory

Not sure what the factory uses. Perhaps a visit to the parts department of your local dealership is in order. I do know that VAIS and other companies always seem to provide their own antennas for the products they provide for the 2nd Generation RX. For example:

Thanks for the links and info. On my Mercedes, it just has the shark fin... Simple and clean. Hopefully I can find something similar. Looks like I'll have to talk to the stealer... If I learn anything, I'll be certain to post it.
