I had a belt squeal today and smoke after my 2004 RX hadn't been started in about a month. I let it run a little to see if the squeaking would go away once it warmed up, but instead the belt snapped. It was too cold out for me to pop the plastic cover off, but the sound was coming from the left side of the engine (looking head on). Also, the battery light comes on on the dash. I brought it to the dealer to be cleaned in september because it squealed and the light came on as well, and it was fine up until now when it broke.
I'm guessing this is the serpentine belt? Anyone know how easy this would be to replace myself? How much is the dealer going to want to fix it?

If it squealed and broke most likely one of the accessories that it turns is frozen and caused it to break.
