Exclamation Compairing Brideston duller alenza and Goodyear Assurance comfortred Tires

I have 2 sets of these tires sitting in my garage for the rx,interestingly I can see the 4 tires alenzas are 2 inches higher than the 4 assurance tires and their sidewall is much harder than the assurance,,,that is may be why they are more comfortable.
My only concern is Flattening of the assurance tires in cold weather,if somebuddy there has it in winter will tell me please about this issue thanks

I've run the Assurance on a smaller vehicle and they did flat spot in very cold weather bot only for a few blocks until they warm a bit. This in zero degree F temps. They were sadly also very squirmy in handling when new, first 2-3000 miles. I felt unsafe when hard cornering or emergency type maneuvers on these when they were new They felt like I was driving on grease. The Alenzas don't flat spot in any temps and that goes down to -20° F They are firmer and corner much better with less body roll, IMO. They are slightly noisier on some pavement but not all. They wear better, but this comparison is on two different vehicles so it's not really a fair comparison.

Just my opinion for driving the two sets. On the RX330 I've had Goodyear OEM, Michelin OEM and Bridgestone Alenzas and of those the Alenzas are clearly the better tire IMO. On the smaller sedan I ran Pirelli, Michelin, Yokohama and Goodyear and of that lot the Yokohamas were the better tire.

I'd look to the Tire Rack ratings and reviews for a broader set of opinions than just my experience. But these are just tires, they don't really cost all that much and they don't last all that long so whatever you choose you can change them if you are not satisfied.

Now all that said, if I were to purchase new tires for the RX today I'd be hard pressed to decide. I see Pierelli has a new set out that looks good and there are several other brands that are getting good or better reviews and ratings than the Alenzas. My Alenzas are at 40,000 miles and are measuring 8/32nds so I will likely see over 80,000 miles on the set, much better than any of the other brands I've run on the RX. They still handle very well and are not noisy. Yup, I'd be hard pressed to choose.

The Goodyear's that you refer to got the top rating for the RX330 and are the best seller. There must be a reason for that.
