Question should i get a warranty?

So i got my 2007 RX400h last week... she has 74,600 miles on her now.... i would like to know if it is even possible to buy an extended warranty from lexus after the original is up.... and if so, is it worth it? what would you all do? i've seen in a few threads that you can buy a warranty for approximately $2100 or so? can anyone confirm?

Lexus will sell you an extended warranty only if the factory warranty is still in force. Unfortunately your vehicle does not qualify.

I don't know if anything is available from Lexus at that mileage but if you are going to pursue a third party warranty ask your dealer which ones they will work with, very important.

I was hoping to not have to ever deal with a third party warranty company again... they like to pick and choose whats covered.. the one i had on my RX300, the contract said they would reimburse the shops or dealers hourly rate up to the industry average...when i called, that "industry average" was only $75 per hour.... clearly NOT an industry average.... i was thinking somewhere around 85, 90 which is average.... what do you other RX400h owners think... any known problems i should be worried about.... or should i expect the same reliability i had from my RX300?

You might want to post this question in the Hybrid Forum, where the 400h guys hangout:

Based on rcy's experiences over in the hybrid forum, that warranty might very well have been worth it.

If you really wanted to get an extended warranty, do reasearch on 3rd party warranty. That is your best bet. Lexus is out.
