The 30K, 60K and 90K is important. It is also more expensive. In addition to oil and filter there is also a change of the cabin filter and engine air cleaner. The brake system is also inspected and the fluid is changed. To reset the "maintenance required light follow the instructions below:
Make sure the odometer is set to total miles not trip. With the key in the off position, push in and hold the odometer button (ODO). Turn the key to the on position without starting the car. Continue to hold in the odometer reset button until the maintenance required light goes off (about 20 seconds).

I notice in your forum profile that your vehicle is a 2005 RX330. If that is correct you definitely should have the brake system fluid changed. The brake fluid is more time critical than mileage.

You have a 2005 RX330 with only 30,000 miles? That equates to just around 4,000 miles a year. Do you store the car winters?
I'd suggest that your pay particular attention to having the 30, 60 and 90k services performed. If you consult the owners manual supplement it will define what needs to be done. You can have an independent do these or even a Toyota dealer for less money than many Lexus dealers but there is also a dealership (Woodfield Lexus) that offers coupons for service if your register at their website.
If you only put 4k on the car a year, you won't see the 60k service until 2021 and the 90k service in 2037, LOL.

here is an account. Mind you the ignition dial has first position says " locked' second 'acc' third 'on'
1. insert key it is at 'locked' position on the dial, push in and hold the ODO button. turn to second position "acc' then the radio shows outside temperature. Engine is not turn on.
2. the maintenance light does not glue, by the time turn to the 'on' postion the car started.
3. maintenance required light still on.
any advise.

That's it, Odometer must be on to make the re-set work.
