Default Aftermarket Headlights Query

I have been slowly liking the idea of the blacked out RX330 headlights that you can pick up on ebay. I was wanting to know the following things:

* Most of them do not have the auto-levelling built into them. Can the mechanism be moved from an OEM headlight to the aftermarket headlight?

* If the auto-levelling is not connected, will this cause the light in the dash to constantly illuminate? Can this error be cleared?

not really... the whole build of the aftermarket is cheap, you'll start breaking **** once you try and swap over.

I do like the look too, but not worth it. Unless its a show car that sees next to no sun and barely any road use those lenses will be trash in no time. If it was a TYC/DEPO product, i'd be more inclined to use a pair, since they're more proper, yet the generic JDM SUPERDUPER HEADRIGHTS are made of JUNK! They're all like that, civic, accord, BMW or LEXUS - they will look like garbage in no time.

On top of those halo's being poor quality.

Personally, if you want blacked out - take them apart and paint them. For me, this SUV is so nice you can't go wrong with OEM - like the Hybrid black chrome headlamps - they are perfect. If you want to go a step further the only other thing would be swapping in another [quad] projector setup in the DRL lamp [morimoto or something along those lines].

There are no black chrome hybrid headlights, however there are light blue chrome hybrid headlights only for the 2008 models.

If you want black headlights, you have to do it yourself or have a retrofit shop do it like mines below:

IS350S that looks awesome. Exactly what I am after. How much did you pay someone to do that for you?

I got it done for $475 with the clear TSXR lens change and the squirrel finders covered. I think to get it painted, it will cost around $250-$300.

draco, I would get a body shop to paint the light housing instead of buying cheap Ebay product. My previous retrofit was painted with matching body color of the car, black chrome can be done, color will be similar to what US RX model tail lights, heck if you want, my retrofitter buddy can also do a complete carbon fiber light housing to replace factory plastic, it will not be cheap since it's pretty labor intensive.
