Guys, I have a 2009 RX350 and there's a radio button the has "AM/SAT" on it but it never changes from AM. I suppose it doesn't have to have XM capability just because it has the SAT button but how hard is it to make it compatible without an aftermarket XM receiver?

Thanks in advance,
Barry

That is correct, Barry. We all have the SAT button. XM and Sirius were options that few took advantage of from the dealer. There are aftermarket XM solutions, a much discussed topic here at Club Lexus, such as VAIS.

Just to add to this, I have an 08 RX400h and just started looking also. Contacted my local Lexus dealer here in So Cal. They directed me to Bluetooth Vallet in San Diego, which has mobile service and now does these for all of the So Cal dealers. Dealer charges, get this, approx $900 for XM or Sirius system fully integrated. Bluetooth Vallet, charges a more reasonable $599. Obviously do it yourself will be approx $275 to $375.

If anyone knows of another option here in So Cal, let me know. Bluetooth Vallet is likely the best direction to go but I am always interested in other options if can save a few dollars and I dont have to do it myself.

Welcome to Club Lexus, pkancel, and thanks for the information for those SoCal folks here to use as needed.
