You can either disconnect the battery (I leave it off for approximately 30 minutes) or pull the ECU fuse in the fuse box. The negative of pulling the battery is that you will have to reset your power windows and possibly the radio stations, power seat settings, etc. The last time I did it (when I replaced the battery), I only had to reset the power windows. YMMV.
