Default sl2i-up issues

hi, finally got around to installing the unit that i bought of a member here and ran into some issues and was wondering if someone could help me out.

install was very easy but when programing for cd-mp3 emulation i did not get the "BEEPS". i tried other settings and didn't get the beeps either.

second problem: when the unit is connected my volume sets to 0 and i am unable to adjust it. this is in any mode not just cd-mp3.

and third: i havent gotten the system to work but when i connected my ipod nano it gave me a "ipod error".

the person i bought it from said to check the nav. volume because thats where the beeps come from so i'll try that when i can but what can i do about the main volume?

thanks

Have you tried looking for the answers on the Vais Web Page Forums?

i solved my problem. the lack of volume is directly related to battery power on my hybrid. since the engine doesn't actually start until needed everything runs battery power. as i worked installing unit i obviously ran battery down enough for things to still work but the volume control was first to go.

i only figured this our because i went to drive car this morning and nav system went out. i freaked and called vais tech and thought they caused problem. nope, my apologies. just old battery.

i got a jump start and everything worked immediately, full volume on stereo. went to buy new battery. and next to reinstall VML.

glad to hear you got that figured out. i wonder if thats the same problem i was having. what made me lean towards the Vais unit was that when i disc. the Y harness the problem would go away. when i put it back on, the problem came back. i even disc. the vais unit and only left the Y harness and was still having this problem. maybe i'll call vais and see what they say.
