Brighter rear view camera?
How can I brighten the rear view camera when I back up at night? My dad's GX470 is pretty bright at night, but the GX has those two bright back up lights at the sides of the license plate. I was thinking of getting those eBay "license DRL LED lights" that's shaped like a bar. Hopefully this will give it enough light at night, instead of being too bright and just a useless bright glare.

I would recommend cleaning the camera lens and installing something like "Extreme Bright 2.5W High Power T15 Wedge Light LED Bulbs w/ projector"

This wouldn't have an affect on the housing would it? There have been other bulbs used before to try and increase brightness and there have been issues with damaging / warping the actual lense in the tail light. Would hate to replace a tail light as it would be expensive to replace.

I'm not sure I understand your question on the housing lens. I have a 2008 RX and there is no lens for the backup bulbs. They do however have a reflective cover with a hole in the middle over the backup bulbs on mine.
A CREE LED bulb has a lens on the end it. That is what makes it great for this kind of application. I don't see how it could warp the housing. If it didn't fit, don't force it, and you wont damage anything. As you know, LED's give off very little heat compared to the standard halogen bulbs. So heat from wont be an issue. As long as there is no short in the wiring of course.
