09 Rx350..different Btw Canada Make And Japan Make?

It is time to come to grips with the fact that automobile manufacturing is very much a global endeavor rather than a country-specific one. Mercedes M Class is built in Alabama, BMW Z and X vehicles come from South Carolina and the most "American" car sold in the USA is the Toyota Camry. And, yes, the Lexus RX is now made in Canada. It doesn't matter where the cars are built, what matters is who manages the plants and how. The Japanese, in particular, have shown that they can build the same cars and trucks in North America as they do in Japan with no loss of quality. As it turns out, the reason the U.S. auto industry had severe quality problems that nearly killed it was not because of inferior workers but because of bad management. As for the RX, my first one was made in Japan and my second one was made in Canada and I detected no difference in quality. Toyota built a state-of-the-art factory in Canada, equipped it with the best technology and trained its workers well. The quality is very much at the Lexus level, as J.D. Power surveys attest.

Tell that to the thousands who are still employed thanks to the bailout. And, by the way, I would imagine that GM and Ford don't build many of their cars in Canada because their US plants are just south of that country. Just a guess.

The government bailout of the auto industry was good and necessary. We are not just talking about the people building cars, but also the part suppliers, dealerships, mechanics, etc. The ramifications of letting this industry fail are massive unemployment and possible economic depression.

Japan assembled vs. Canadian?
Hello i currently own a 2005 rx330 and am trying to order parts. One question i keep being asked is japan or canadian? Im wondering if there are infact any differences in specifications in the 2 vehicles that would make the japan parts not compatible with my canadian vehicle. I know for a while i mistakenly thought my car was a japan car and have actually ordered parts for the japanese model yet the parts all fit and function fine. If anyone has any info please educate me.

To easily tell if your car is made in Japan, your VIN will start with 1JP...otherwise your RX is build in Canada.
When ordering the right parts, good houses will ask for your VIN to make sure and protect you that the components will fit.
Check your VIN and post your 1st 4 digits, then we can help you define it.

2016 RX 350 Made in Japan
Picked up my RX 350 just after Christmas, came with 1st aid kit and rear bumper protector, no charge. I didn't notice whether or not that the Canadian made cars lacked these freebies? 1st Lexus and it most likely won't be my last, really enjoying this vehicle.

Interesting tidbit: when I was searching for our 2007-2008 RX350, we wanted one with AWD, nav, and tan interior. Of those that came up in that restricted search the only Japan built ones were breakwater blue, white, or brandywine color and all the brandywine that came up were made in Japan.
Any one else find any similar limitations to Japan built models?
