I ended up being able to fix the leak. I documented it with some photos, but the post didn't take for whatever reason and was lost. Maybe it won't allow a new member to post photos. So rather than go through that again, here's a link to what I did as posted in another forum:

Default plugged drain hole

Just want to say thanks for the great info and the pics especially. Now i totally understand what is going on and why the water overflows into the floor. What a crappy design. no way to access the drain hole to clean it out easily. It is probably best to extend the hose out to where the water drains out to the same area that the water goes into the front windshield drains. somewhere near the area where the front fender meets the body panels.

Thanks for the great investigative work and the pics.

Default drain cleared no more flooding

ok. I was able get the stupid design drain to work again. I made a little tool out of stainless steel wire and was able to get the right bend in it to feell around and clear out the clogged drain hole.

Tested it by pouring a gallon of water from the sunroof and saw it all drain out along the outside seams of the chasis.

I have pics.

the tool made from wire.

the tool in the hole that i used to poke around and clear the drain.

finally the drains working again.

Hope that this helps you.

No need to extend the tube or take apart all of the wiring in order to get to the cavity area.

I'm assuming these drain holes lead directly to outside, underneath? If so, does anyone have pictures of where these are located? I'd think it would be easier to poke the holes open from underneath, and periodically do so to help keep them open. Maybe even use a wet vac to suck the debris through.

EDIT: further reading on the link above explains there is no direct access to it from underneath... so much for that idea.

Hope by now you have found your answer.
I posted a video of where the body drains are a few days ago.
The video also shows where they are NOT supposed to drain...

Hello draco. I just saw that you replied to me concerning your leak. Did you fix it? I posted how to solve the problem a few months back.
click the ling on my posting above to see the pics of the tool that i made to clear out the drain hole. Let me know if you still need help.

It is a very easy and cheap fix.

I've taken to using Drano to keep the drain clear. At first I would pour it into the hole in the footwell where the water leaks out (using a turkey baster), but now just pour it from the sunroof via the drain lines. It has unclogged the drain every time within a few minutes.

Thumbs up Lexus needs to cover repair issues

Apparently the hose drains into a cavity (which was also partially blocked) and water drains out from there. The extra bit of tubeing now also drains water directly out of the car (I think I got that right).

I tested this when I got home and did my own tests (park in the same spot and put the garden hose over that area) and low and behold no more leaking. I have now finally put my car back together again.
Draco, Thank you for your detailed, persistent posts of issues and solutions. This seems like it would be a manufacturer issue as the tubes were not long enough to handle any water with blockage. Not sure that Lexus even made us aware of this defect. Wish they would repair these types of issues sans charge.
