Default Review of Pirelli Scorpion Verde

For 04 RX330

My daughter and I have put >5K miles on these tires, so here's a quick review

Handling dry: 9
Handling wet: 9.5
Noise: 7
Ride: 7-rides good but translates a gritty feel to the cabin. Will not be mistaken for LS460
Braking dry: 9
Braking wet: 10-old man (i think) pulled out in a driving rainstorm Labor Day. Had to slam on brakes (anti locks kicked in). Tire/brake combo pulled it down from 60 in a very safe distance, no muss or fuss.
Overall: 8.5. I really like these tires. I feel when my kid is out in the elements, she has an extra measure of safety. IMHO, these are the best tires you can buy for the RX series if you're concerned about safety.

I find it hard to believe wet handling/braking is better than dry handling/braking.

Glad you're liking them. I've had them on the 450h for about 5K now too. They're much better than the OE Dunlops it came with. I feel more confident driving especially in turns. The true test will come in the winter. I'm sure I won't be disappointed.

Please report back with your opinion when the snow starts, it'll be time this winter to get new tires for our RX, IF we get snow this year! (not too many reviews for driving in snow with them yet)

Will do if it snows. It was a welcome reprieve last winter after the freak Halloween storm. FYI, I had the Alenzas on the 330. They were solid in the snow. Then again, I have yet to get stuck in the RX.

Any final words on this tire? I think disrount tires (aka american tire) is having double rebates ($60+$60) going on right now......

Almost time to get new tires for the RX for Mrs. Car.....

Yes, looks like for this tire the rebate runs through Sunday, July 7th. Shipped price for 4 tires after rebates would only be $700. Next would be getting them mounted and balanced.

Question How do you like your Cooper's?

Hi Lexus114,
How have you liked your Cooper's? I'm stuck between those and the Pirelli Scorpion Verde on a decision. I need quiet, good tread life, wet traction and the same or better gas mileage. Thanks for the feedback.

I had time on Saturday and had to make a decision so I went with the Cooper CS4. I didn't notice a huge difference in the noise level but it was raining when I got them. Have less than 100 miles on them so not much to report yet. I just hope I didn't make a mistake.

I bought the scorpion verde plus(harder compound) and they are the noisiest tire possible....bloody awful...bad 800 $ mistake..4000 km and they are super annoying.

I have them on my vehicle. They were a little noisy at first, not as bad as Cooper brand that I had on my previous car. But after while after break in I didn't hear it anymore. They worked great for me in the snow. I didn't get stuck once. It chopped up the snow like a Ginsu Knife. I rarely use salt but I use the vehicle's snow mode quite often.
