P2197 and P0158
Hi everyone;
I just had my first code on my 2009 rx350 at 87,000 miles and just want to share my results for future users.
I was driving home, and my Trac light came on, then the VSC, then last the check enging light . As soon as I got home, I read my codes and got the P2197 and P0158.( I had a difficult time with my OBD reader linking up, I don't know why.) Did some searching on the posts here, and read something about some TSB's on those codes... With the snowstorm coming here to the northeast, I felt limited on time. I made an appointment at 6:45 PM that night with my lexus dealer for a 7:00 am drop off the following morning for a diagnostic check. They had a 2013 rx350 loaner with 400 miles on the odometer ready, and after 8 minutes I was out the door!
They called me at work 1 hour later and told me it was an Air Fuel sensor next to the raidiator. I figured it would more than that. I never saw a P2197 before. Having a prevoius 99 RX300 I had an air fuel sensor (rear one) fail at 169,000, I feel this sensor failed a little pre-mature. Total bill was $459.90. Since the diagnostic was going to be $130.00 alone, they "void" the diagnostic fee, if you have the repair done by them. Since the sensor price was around $250 alone. I let them do it. They even detailed my car!( Wash and vac, and even washed my mats! It was very dirty when I dropped it off) I was very, very, happy with my "Lexus Experence"
Thank you IRA Danvers!
-I just hope I don't have to visit them too often with my "newer" RX...
