Good point. Do you recommend a flush or is drain/removal sufficient? If dran/removal is ok, I'll do it on my own but if a flush where 100% of the old fluid needs to be removed i'll take it to a shop.

As you are probably aware, there aren't a lot of reported problems with these transmissions so apparently, they are bulletproof but clean fluid certainly won't hurt it. Personally, I would do a drain and refill.

If you are feeling especially generous and ambitious you might consider complete removal and replacement with Toyota WS fluid or a similar synthetic.

I'll go with a drain and do them more frequently with the fluids I can easily get to. Maybe every other oil change or so.

Been doing drain and fill on the tranny every 15 to 20K miles. Fresh fluid all the time. Pink and smells of no burnt oil!
