Curious how this has worked for you? When I start my car I can hear a whining and steering was hard. Realized ps fluid was vey low. I added atf an it stopped but its still leaking. After looking on here I'm pretty sure it's gonna be the ps rack. Looking for some other possible options. The whining is getting worse. Thanks for any feed back. Also, How is the boot in relation with steering rack...

Am noticing stiff steering to left last couple of days on my RX330 '05. Took it to one mechanic said is 'knuckle joint/u-joint' moving. Didn't trust him; couldn't get the part for a few days anyway. Today went to another mechanic who does alignments. Checked out rack; said no leak but stiffness will get worse. 193k miles on car; cost to replace rack about $700. Worth it? Should I wait for a leak or could that happen all of a sudden? (Mechanic also said could use new front shocks but those were replaced 3 years ago and I have to drive in a lot of pot holes so ... not interested in replacing them again.)
