are you sure it's engine related and not wheel bearing?

How are your tires? Worn tires can roar s well.

thx checked tires and they still look good; replaced at 168,800 so should be good at 202,000 miles...what causes a wheel bearing to go bad and any idea on repair costs?

There are a number of things - age, alignment, tires, suspension issues. Given your mileage its not out of the ordinary.

Easy way to check if it is engine related is to shift to neutral at high speed and see if pitch or noise changes. If not it is suspension or wheel related (bearing tires etc etc etc).

Keep in mind it is hard to diagnose over the net especially if you are not mechanically minded and cannot give accurate descriptions etc. Not saying that is the case, just saying it can be hard to give an educated opinion without good input. See if it is speed, engine RPM, steering, or road surface related.
