Default just got it today, did the bulb die?

Hey everyone one. We got a 76k flint mica 2004 rx330 one owner for 13,500 from Lexus of Alex. Very happy. I was detailing the car soon after I got home. The passenger side light had condensation on the headlights. Known issue from what I can see. Well I opened the bid blub case so it could air out. One I closed the seal and hooked everything back up. No light we just it today. Did I kill the bulb? Long day between car buying, wet sanding, compounding .....not finished this step yet.

Any advance on the bulb?

Older bulbs, especially the HID lights, are extremely sensitive to motion. Believe it or not, the vibrations from the motor and road are often the primary cause of bulbs going out. The filaments get very rigid over time and will simply crack in half with just the right motion.

Replace the bulb and you should be fine. Post some pics when you get yours cleaned up.

Ordered a set of 4300k bulbs

What the best place to get touch up paint. I know there is the dealership but it's usually don't match exactly.

Compounding a car is soo messy and dusty. It's worth it after the polishing.

Some members have reported success with the following for paint repairs:

In the meantime you can try moving the one good bulb over to the other location to see if it works or not as a test. Condensation over time on the HID setup has been known to cause corrosion requiring the replacement of the ballast at considerable cost. Careful not to touch the bulb.

HID bulbs use a gas, they dont have a filament like regular bulbs do.

114, I wasn't referring to the HID bulbs primarily when referring to the motion causes the filaments to break. The HID lights though are sensitive to touch and motion as the electrodes in them are fragile as well. I've see where the heat causes the oils from one's fingers to actually damage the glass encasing on the bulb (leave a darkened area).

Sorry if my post was frantic and not really clear. Hope I did not mislead anyone. Was trying to offer some quick input in a few sentences from my iphone.

I had the same issue with my driver's side HID and ended up having to replace the ballast. I picked one up from that popular bidding site.

Swapped out the bulb, good to go now. Sorta bummed out, I thought I sealed the headlight pretty good. Guess not, had some condensation after washing it.
