AC Quits When Engine Warm
I have researched this forum and elsewhere and cannot find this type problem. The AC runs fine when the car is started cold. After running the car, turning it off and coming back to it the AC blows hot. I checked under the hood once when it was exhibiting this problem. The compressor was kicking on for about 4 to 5 seconds, then shutting off. I let the car sit a couple of hours and it works fine. There are times when on the highway it will kick in and blow cold indicating whatever is failing is getting enough air to cool it off. I don't believe it is refrigerant with this type problem. I did replace the cabin air filter which was very dirty. The fan blows harder now, but have the same problem.
Could this be a relay or something else? Thanks for your help.

It's an issue with your cooling fans/radiator fans. When at idle and not in motion, the condenser does not have enough air flowing over it to dispense the heat/ exchange the heat.
Look at your cooling fans. When the AC is on, the fans should be running.
This is your problem. Fix the fans, fix your AC.

Thanks for the reply. It seems when the compressor kicks in the fans are running. When the problem exists, the fans will go off when the compressor is not working or the compressor quits. Still think it would be the fan? Again, thanks for the information.
