Ready to buy RX 330, questions!
Hi RX 330 owners!
I am selling my 2003 BMW 330ci and ready to get a new vehicle. I've pretty much decided between a 2002-2003 LS430, 2004-2005 RX 330, or a 2004-2005 Highlander.
Really leaning towards the RX 330. Here is an example of one I can get: 2005 RX 330, 96,000 miles, $14,650. Do you think that's a good price? I'd be getting it through a broker.
Basically, I am trying to decide if I should get a warranty with it? Should I just get a powertrain warranty for 2 years, a more all inclusive one, or none? Powertrain for 2 years is $1338. Not sure how much a more all inclusive would be quite yet. I'd love to not have to get one as that would be extra money in my pocket, as it were, but I would if it's recommended. Any suggestions?

As for the power train, if the car checks out and here is not any signs of poor maintenance or abuse, your engine and tranny will run easily up to 200K in most cases. Most extended warranties are rip offs fwiw.
I would think you can get the price close to 13 or even 12 I you are willing to shop. Seems slightly high to me. Wait 2 or 3 months and that price will be 12. The magic 8 year window is about to pass and at that point even luxury vehicles begin to rapidly depreciate.

In my area, Southern California, during the summer there is a HUGE demand for SUVs so the price really isn't moving much. I've looked around some and the reason I'm going with a broker is because the owner is a good friend of mine and makes sure the cars are in excellent shape (has Lexus inspect vehicle and then has his own people inspect after them). That's a good point if the inspection comes clean then I shouldn't need it. I was more worried about little odds and ends that might break in two years. Electronics, etc
