Driver's Seat Removal - How To?
A small object (optical lens) fell into to narrow slot in the seat belt receptacle on the right side of the seat. It was a 1000 to 1 odds of landing there........... but thats where it landed. That plastic moulded housing on the side of the seat is not accessible due to the center console, so to get the plastic housing "off" to retrieve the lens, the seat will have to come out.
I'm guessing I'll need to unplug electronics, but then how can the seat be made to slide forward off its track? Any tips? Thanks.

Here is the diagram from the Lexus Service Manual. Important to follow the reinstall with the proper torque. You will need to disconnect the wiring harnesses below the seat.

Easiest thing to is
1) Pull off the seat track covers (flat head screw driver will do the job nicely).
2) Undo the 4 corner bolts
3) Disconnect the power plugs (there will be 2; a white plug and a yellow plug). Some people recommend disconnecting the battery before this to avoid any potential misfire of the airbag.
4) The seat can either be removed now (carefully - the metal tracks are sharp and will damage anything they come into with); alternatively you can actually push the seat over on the back part of the bracket (so that the backrest of the seat is lying on your rear seat). This will allow you to get most of the access you need.
** NOTE: There is also a simple procedure to remove the centre console.

Seat removal / Console removal
Thank you rainbird, htownblue and draco. It didn't occur that the console removal was an option but I might try that first.
Dracos final note was that there was a simple procedure to remove the console. Draco, can you provide that procedure?
Thanks! (This website forum is great)

From memory:
1) Slide the console all the way back.
2) Move both the drivers side and passenger seats as far forward as possible
3) On the side, at the bottom of the console, you will see a triangular / trapezoid cover on each side
4) Unscrew the bolts that are there
5) Move both the driver and passenger seats as far back as possible
6) You will see the same triangular / trapezoid cover (and I believe one might be larger than the others)
7) Undo those screws
8) You will also notice a cable pull (this is the part that connects to the inside of the cup holder to move the console back and forth).
9) Unclip this
10) Lift the front of the console and disconnect the white plug (this is just for the light in the cup holder).
11) Lift up gently and slight rock from side to side
That should be it, I think.
