Default Accelerator mushy when starting from a stop

Hello All, hoping someone can help me here. I have a 2007 Lexus RX350

Yesterday while backing out of my driveway I went to press the accelerator lightly and nothing happened, I pressed a little harder and the engine roared to life.

It happens every time the vehicle is stopped. I can push the pedal down about 10-20% and it feels like nothing is happening. When I press it a little more, it starts accelerating.

I've searched on here and found posts relating to the Accelerator pedal position sensor, and the throttle position sensor, for Lexus GS, but nothing for the RX350. Also tried looking for a schematic of the location of each of these sensors, but no pictures were found.

In the meantime, I've unplugged the negative battery cable in an attempt to reset the ECU.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Here is the location of both. The throttle Position Sensor is at T2 the Accelerator Position Sensor is at A12.

I ended up resetting the ECU. No more issue to speak of.

Thanks for the info though. If it happens again, I'll check there.

Simply disconnect the negative terminal on the battery. Leave it disconnected for 30 minutes. You will need to reset windows, hatch, sunroof and radio stations. The directions are in your owner's manual.
